I am in Brazil talking about my book about interracial marriage in comparison between the United States and Brazil. Well, specifically, Los Angeles and de Janeiro, but these two places say a lot about race in these two societies and differently.
One of the things that I noticed is that my period is a lot lighter than it usually is in the United States. I usually use those ultra tampons in the United States – the largest possible option. When I come to Brazil, suddenly the little tampons called ""super" are enough for me. I do not need a super plus or not even an ultra to feel like am taken care of.
What has changed? Is it the Brazilian people? Their kindness? Is it the sun? Is it food with fewer hormones embedded in them. I don't know, but I do like it.
